What's the difference between a dietitian and a nutritionist?
When you’re looking for advice on nutrition, it’s really important to check the credibility of the person dishing out the tips.
Anyone can call themselves a nutritionist without any qualifications.
There are mixed opinions and views, even between registered professionals at times, but we are all held to account by a professional board meaning we have to practice EVIDENCE based nutrition.
To avoid confusion, check to see if the person you follow or are taking advice from is registered.
… oh and if anyone is telling you to count calories and weigh your food walk away! Diet culture and focusing on food in that way needs to be ditched… one way or any another, it messes with your mind!

I personally trained as a dietitian and was a registered dietitian for many years, but for several reasons now work as an NZ registered nutritionist.
